Abhishek Banerjee was one of the guests at the online press conference to announce the tie-up between the OTT platform Zee5 and content creators TVF (The Viral Fever).

The actor, who initially made a name for himself working with TVF, later came into the limelight with films like Stree (2018) and Dream Girl (2019) and the web-series Paatal Lok (2020).

But he said there was time when he was struggling to find work. It was during this period that he got an opportunity to appear in one scene in TVF’s web-show Pitchers. But he wasn’t keen when he was told he would have to audition for it. “I refused to audition for just one scene. I just didn’t find it right,” said Banerjee.

Eventually, however, he agreed. “I then got selected, shot the scene and forgot about it,” he said.

Banerjee was certain the scene wouldn't do much for him, but he was in for a pleasant surprise. “I went to a remote place in South India for a holiday with my wife. Over there, a bus arrived. As people got out of the bus, they pointed towards me and starting repeating my dialogue [from Pitchers], ‘Tu beer hai BC’,” said the actor, smiling.

Asked if he now feels secure about his career, Banerjee said, “No, an actor can never feel secure. But I would like to say that I am happy things have worked for me and my work is appreciated.”
