Akshay Kumar’s upcoming flick Bellbottom will be released in theatres on 27 July. The actor made the announcement recently while sharing a video from the film.

“I know you have patiently waited for Bellbottom! Couldn’t be happier to finally announce the release of our film. Arriving across big screens worldwide. BellBottom on 27 July (sic),” he tweeted. The video shows the actor walking in slow-motion outside an airport.

Bellbottom is the first Hindi film whose release date was announced after the second COVID-19 wave hit India. The film was shot and completed last year in August and September during the pandemic in 40 days on a trot.

A note from the makers read, “The eagerly awaited suspenseful spy drama based on true events is now ripe for release and cinema lovers who are longing to throng back to theatres have blocked their calendars. Notably, this will be the first Akshay Kumar-starrer to enjoy a theatrical release this year (sic).”

Last month, there were reports about Bellbottom being released directly on an over-the-top (OTT) platform but the makers had dismissed them as rumours.

Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, Bellbottom is being produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.
