Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay dies at 38, organs to be donated

Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay, who was critically wounded in a road accident late on Friday night, was declared brain-dead on Monday. He was 38.
His family has decided to donate his organs.
The actor’s brother Siddhesh said, “The brain stem has stopped functioning, so we have decided to donate his organs. Vijay always believed in serving society."
As per a report in The Times of India newspaper, the actor met with the accident, injuring the right side of his brain and his thigh, when he was returning home from his friend’s house on a motorcycle. He was later admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.
The actor made his acting debut in Rangappa Hogbitna (2011) and went on to star in Harivu (2014) and Oggarane (2014).
Sanchari Vijay won the National award for his performance as a transgender in the critically acclaimed Naanu Avanalla...Avalu (2015). He was last seen in the 2020 film Act 1978.
During the lockdown, he helped provide oxygen to coronavirus patients and amplified information about COVID-19 resources on social media.
