Aamir Khan to play chess with Viswanathan Anand to raise money for COVID-19 resources


The actor will be joined by other celebrities such as Ritesh Deshmukh, Arijit Singh, Sajid Nadiadwala and Ananya Birla.

Aamir Khan will be among the many film personalities who will battle Indian chess grandmaster, Viswanathan Anand. The competitions are part of a charity effort by the NGO Akshaya Patra to raise money for COVID-19 resources in India.

Several film personalities, including Riteish Deshmukh, singer Arijit Singh, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Ananya Birla, will take part in the event. The chess website, Chess.com, shared the news of Anand facing off against these celebrities. 

Khan is an avid chess player and has previously played an exhibition game with Anand. The games will be streamed on Chess.com's YouTube channel. 

Nadiadwala also shared a video announcing his participation, with Jacqueline Fernandez and Hrithik Roshan supporting the campaign. 

The competition will take place on 13 June.
