Didn’t know how comfortable I would be with Shilpa Shetty in Hungama 2, says Meezaan Jaaferi

In just the second film of his career, Meezaan Jaaferi has been tasked with headlining the sequel to the hit comic drama Hungama (2003). Titled Hungama 2, the film also gave him a chance to act alongside and shake a leg with Shilpa Shetty in the song ‘Chura Ke Dil Mera 2.0.’ 

Being a newcomer, Jaaferi obviously had some butterflies in his stomach. “Initially when I didn’t know her, I was so intimidated. I had never met her before, so I didn’t know how it was going to be working with her or how comfortable I was going to be on set with her. But when I met her, I knew I was going to like her immediately,” he said in a statement. 

That turned out to be true for him. “She is such a cool person, so bindaas that it’s always a light-hearted atmosphere on the set with her. She is a lot of fun, she plays a lot of pranks, cracks a lot of jokes; [its] full-on masti. I am super glad that I not only got a good co-star but a good friend and I am sure that our friendship is going to last for a long time,” the actor said. 

Apart from director Priyadarshan, only Paresh Rawal is back from the first film. Hungama 2 also stars Pranitha Subhash, Ashutosh Rana, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Joshi. 

Hungama 2 will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar from 23 July.
