The Hindi movie Mimi, starring Kriti Sanon and Sai Tamhankar, will be released this month. The news was shared by Tamhankar on Instagram. However, it has not been revealed whether the film will arrive in theatres.
The actress also shared the first poster of the film featuring Sanon. The picture is captioned, “This July, expect the extraordinary from the ordinary! Stay tuned.”
In the poster, the actress is seen in a pregnant avatar. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa.
Mimi is the official Hindi remake of the Marathi movie Mala Aai Vhaychay (2011). Directed, written and produced by Samruddhi Porey, the film dealt with international surrogacy. It starred Aiden Brakley, Shreya Porey, Urmilla Kothare, Stacy Bee and Suchitra Bandekar. Porey also played one of the supporting actors.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Mimi has been directed by cinematographer-filmmaker Laxman Utekar. This is his second directorial venture after Luka Chuppi (2019). Starring Kartik Aaryan and Sanon, the film was a success at the box office.
