A number of prominent people from the film industry visited Dilip Kumar's bungalow at Bandra in Mumbai today for a final glimpse of the thespian who died this morning.
The premises of the legendary actor's home are packed with a huge media contingent waiting to provide the latest updates and policemen trying to control the surging crowd.
Dharmendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur were among those who visited the residence of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu a short while ago.
Comedian Johnny Lever, who arrived with veteran actor Junior Mehmood, told a group of waiting television reporters, “We had got a chance to do a world tour with him once and travel a lot. He gave us so much love! He never made us feel lesser stars than him. We got to learn a lot from him. He was really an institution.”
From the political class, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar arrived with Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik. Later, another Maharashtra minister, Chhagan Bhujbal, was seen arriving at the premises.
Dilip Kumar was then taken to the burial ground at Juhu with full state honours.
The veteran died early today at the Hinduja hospital in Khar where he had been admitted since last week with a complaint of breathlessness.
