The Hindi film industry has been left bereaved by the death of veteran actor Dilip Kumar, whose passing marks the end of an era. Several prominent figures from the world of cinema such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Lata Mangeshkar, Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and Akshay Kumar took to social media to offer condolences and hail the legend's artistry.

Referring to Dilip Kumar as an institution and an epochal figure in the history of Indian cinema, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan offered his condolences to the artiste's family.

Salman Khan eulogized the legend as simply the best actor Indian cinema has ever seen and will ever see.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi mentioned the role the artiste unknowingly played in her formative years and praised his dignified presence on the silver screen and beyond.
