The OTT platform NeeStream started streaming the Malayalam movie Richter Scale 7.6 on 5 July.
Directed by first-time helmer Jeeva KJ, the drama revolves around a father and son who have decided not to relocate when faced with replacement. It highlights the conflict between the older man, a folk artist past his prime, and his son who works in a quarry.

The film stars Murugan Martin as the son and Asok Kumar Peringode as the eccentric father. Richter Scale 7.6 also talks about the ruthless exploitation of the environment in the name of development. The film has won the Best Newcomer Award at the Noida International Film Festival.
The film's story, screenplay and dialogues were written by Rejikumar and Rajesh Kumar K. The film was produced by Sajith Kumar CD and Shaji GS under the banner of FNC Productions.
Richter Scale 7.6 had its premiere at the 14th Habitat Film Festival at New Delhi's India Habitat Centre on 23 May 2019.
