Planet Marathi brings almost the entire Marathi industry together for promotional song

The Planet Marathi OTT platform has come up with a promotional song to celebrate its launch on 30 June with the film June (2021), starring Siddharth Menon and Nehha Pendse Baayas.

The video for the song features a long list of Marathi film stars from various age groups, from Vikram Gokhale and Sachin Pilgaonkar to Siddharth Menon and Shivani Borkar. Featured in the video are Sharad Kelkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sonalee Kulkarni, Siddharth Jadhav, Tejaswini Pandit, Planet Marathi founder-chairman Akshay Bardapurkar, Pushkar Shrotri, Subodh Bhave, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Priya Bapat, Mrinal Kulkarni, Prajakta Mali, Sanjay Jadhav, Abhijit Panse, Prasad Oak, Jitendra Joshi, Adhinath Kothare, Urmila Kanetkar, Sonali Khare, Bhargavi Chirmule, Parna Pethe, Smita Tambe, Gayatri Datar, Abhijeet Khandkekar, Bhagyashree Milind, Neha Shitole, Deepti Devi, Sandeep Pathak, Nikhil Chavan, Tejas Barve, Surbhi Hande and Suvrat Joshi.

The song, ‘Planet Marathi’, is an uplifting number composed by Kaushal Inamdar and written by Sameer Sawant with vocals by Swapnil Bandodkar, Adarsh Shinde, Yogita Godbole and Vaishali Made. Pushkar Shrotri has directed the video and he also features in it.

Speaking about the song, Sharad Kelkar said, “Today the Marathi industry is looked upon as a regional entertainment industry, whereas we are more than the language. We are part of a legacy that is centuries old. The Planet Marathi anthem truly honours that legacy and so does this platform.”

Actress Khanvilkar, who had inaugurated Planet Marathi, said, “Being a part of the 'Planet Marathi' anthem was like being a part of Marathi history, culture, pride and heritage. It was an amazing experience to share the screen with almost every Marathi superstar. Planet Marathi has taken a revolutionary step to strengthen the industry and bind us together. This song signifies that spirit of togetherness.”

Tejaswini Pandit, who features in the recently released web-series Samantar (Season 2), said, “It is so exciting to be a part of this movement that Planet Marathi OTT has started. The movement of digital transformation in Marathi entertainment is marked by this anthem that speaks about the unified force that the Marathi entertainment industry is.
