Karan Johar’s next directorial foray, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

After announcing his return to the director's chair yesterday, Karan Johar has revealed that it’s a love story titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which will star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film has been written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. 

The filmmaker made the announcement in a video that was posted on social media. The video features the title song and it clearly indicates that the film will be a modern and quirky love story. 

Johar's last directorial foray was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) starring ​Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Bhatt made her debut in is Johar's Student Of The Year (2012). 

The announcement was made today as it’s Ranveer Singh’s birthday. This is his first film with Johar as a director and his second outing with Bhatt after Gully Boy (2019).

 Johar said in the announcement video yesterday, “Personally, my primary passion always lies behind the camera. Telling stories, creating a world full of a multitude of colours, eternal music, emotions. And I feel it’s time to go back to my favourite place – on set. And to create what I adore the most – love stories.”
