Drashti Dhami reveals first look of her character, a royal warrior, in Disney+ Hotstar’s The Empire

Drashti Dhami has revealed the first look of her character, a royal warrior princess, in the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar historical series, The Empire.

In the brief teaser video, the actress poses in a flowing maroon gown with heavy silver jewellery. The caption states, 'No one is above family. No sacrifice is big enough for The Empire.'

The television actress is making her digital debut with the historical web-series created by filmmaker Nikkhil Advani. Besides Dhami, the series, exploring the beginnings of a dynasty, also stars Kunal Kapoor, Dino Morea and veteran actress Shabana Azmi.

Speaking about her part in The Empire, Dhami said, “I have played a myriad of characters in my years in television, but this is a first for me. My look in The Empire reflects royalty but also allows her to shapeshift into the warrior she can be. Every look test was a thrilling experience that helped me understand her even more.”

Co-directed by Mitakshara Kumar and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani of Emmay Entertainment, The Empire is due to be released soon on Disney+ Hotstar.
