Flipkart Video has launched the second season of its investigative thriller show Crime Stories.
The second season went live on the Flipkart app yesterday. As in the first season, which was premiered in March this year, each episode revolves around a standalone case.
With the web-series, the makers have introduced a feature called 'branching video'. The interactive technology allows audiences to become a part of the narrative by letting them choose between different, compelling storylines.
KC Shankar, who has appeared in a number of Hindi films like Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) and Mardaani 2 (2019), plays the role of inspector Vikrant Singh.
The first season consisted of 30 episodes of between 12 and 14 minutes' duration.
Speaking about continuing his role as inspector Vikrant and his association with Flipkart Video, Shankar said, "It is one of the most interesting characters that I have ever played and the experience of working on this show only got better with the new season.
"With the introduction of the ‘branching video’ feature, we had to shoot an alternate storyline, which was thrilling and challenging at the same time.
"Audiences are looking to do more than just watch the show. They want to be involved. Everyone loves having control and this new season gives them an opportunity to do just that. I can’t wait for everyone to tune in to the Flipkart app and catch the criminal along with me while winning exciting prizes.”
Speaking about the new 'branching video' feature, Aloka Guha, senior director and head of content at Flipkart Video, said, "We are giving viewers a more immersive entertainment experience which is different from anything we have done before.
"This introduction is built on our deep consumer understanding, which has revealed a growing fascination for taking more 'control' of the content they consume.
"We are excited for audiences to watch this new season and determine for themselves how the story moves forward.”
Crime Stories (Season 2) is produced by Keylight Productions.
