Mrinal Kulkarni joins Planet Marathi’s Planet Talent arm

Veteran actress Mrinal Kulkarni is the latest figure from the Marathi film industry to become a part of Planet Talent, an arm of Planet Marathi. 

The artiste said in a statement, “Planet Marathi is the very first OTT platform for Marathi film audience. Apart from the film industry, it is also being discussed among audiences. To be invited by Planet Marathi’s head honcho Akshay Bardapurkar to be a part of such a family is a reason for happiness for me. His efforts to take the language to newer heights are worth applauding.” 

She added, “Currently, the Marathi industry is doing excellent work. I am sure such content will reach the Marathi audience. A lot of actors and directors will get encouragement because of such a major platform.” 

Kulkarni played Rajmata Jijau in the 2019 historical war drama Fatteshikast (2019). She will be seen in another historical drama Pawankhind later this year. 

Akshay Bardapurkar, founder and CMD of Planet Marathi, said that Kulkarni has great experience as a performer. "Apart from being a topmost actress, she is also a topmost director. Planet Marathi will be greatly benefitted by her deep knowledge of literature. It is an honour for Planet Marathi for such a valuable actress to be a part of Planet Talent," he said.
