The Punjabi feature film Puaada, starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on 12 August. With the pandemic bringing cinema-hall operations to a halt, the much-anticipated Punjabi film will mark the first such release after 17 months.
Directed by first-time filmmaker Rupinder Chahal, the film has been backed by A&A Pictures and Brat Films and is being released worldwide by Zee Studios. The studios shared the announcement on Twitter as well.

Although Puaada was initially set to arrive in theatres in early 2021, the release was pushed back due to the pandemic. The trailer of the film and the song 'Aye Haye Jattiye' from the film, meanwhile, kept the audience interested in the movie. The remaining songs from the movie will be released in the next few days.
The Independence Day weekend is likely to see audiences coming back to theatres and the response to this film will be key in assessing the audience's willingness to enter cinema halls.
