NeeStream, an OTT platform that primarily caters to Malayalam speakers, released its first Sanskrit film, Samasyah, with English and Malayalam subtitles, on Thursday.

Written and directed by Shibu Kumaranallur, the film explores the themes of pollution and conservation.

Samasyah is centred on a young disabled child who has survived a natural catastrophe and is in a battle for survival.

The project features newcomers such as Muahamma Prasad, Vinod Kovoor, Jaseela Parveen, Biju Eravannur and Hariharan Chevayur as well as child artists from 14 districts.

The only known face in the film is a senior Malayalam actor Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, who has played a shopkeeper in Drishyam (2013) and Drishyam 2 (2021).

Samasyah has been produced by Praveesh Kumar Morayoor under the Rajadeepam Cinemas banner.
