The first season of Nagesh Kukunoor’s City Of Dreams ended with Poornima (Priya Bapat), the daughter of veteran politician Amey Rao Gaikwad aka Saheb (Atul Kulkarni), getting her brother Ashish (Siddharth Chandekar) assassinated after he goes astray. She also shows the Maharashtra chief minister (Sachin Pilgaonkar) his place in order to quench her thirst for power.
Going by the trailer for the second season, Poornima, who is now the interim chief minister and has designs on the chair, is looking forward to the imminent state elections. Saheb is horrified and broken after learning of the fratricide. The young woman also bears a grudge against her father after discovering some of his murky secrets. Hence, the upcoming election promises a full-blown war between father and daughter.
Poornima will leave no stone unturned to reach her goal. This includes getting party worker Purushottam (Sandeep Kulkarni) and senior cop Wasim Khan (Eijaz Khan) on her side. Meanwhile, despite being wheelchair-bound, Saheb is determined to go to any lengths to attain power, even if it means joining hands with a rival party to foment communal riots.
The trailer for City Of Dreams (Season 2) is full of drama and intense conflict. The interesting storyline of a woman’s ruthless quest to acquire power, for which she is willing to clash with her own father, makes for a good watch.
