Actor and singer Dhanveer Singh, who was recently seen in Zee5’s Stage of Siege: Temple Attack, as one of the terrorists, has landed an important role in Abhishek Bachchan’s Dasvi. The actor is playing the younger brother of Abhishek Bachchan's character.
Singh said his character is a very prominent one in the film. "I’m waiting to complete the last schedule of the film. The character which I’m playing in Dasvi is completely different from what I have played before mostly because I have played intense characters. But this film has a very different plot. It’s a very light-hearted and funny character. So I had to do some preparations in order to learn different languages and dialects for which I had to practice a lot. So we had to do sessions with our dialect coach to make our accent and pronunciation proper.”
Dasvi also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. Most of Singh's scenes are with Kaur and Bachchan. "They are really beautiful human and Abhishek is such a gentleman. Nimrat is also very amazing. They give you a very comfortable space without making you feel like a newcomer. Both of them are the finest effortless actors. Apart from acting, I got to learn a lot from them," he said.
Singh has also played several other characters such as Salim in the popular play Mughal-e-Azam, directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. He has also provided vocals for Punjabi songs like 'Tere Bin' and 'Royal Standard'.
Helmed by Tushar Jalota, Dasvi went on the floors in February. Backed by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, the project is being produced by Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Bake My Cake Films.
