Saswata Chatterjee to feature as Kangana Ranaut's mentor in Dhaakad

Actor Saswata Chatterjee will be seen playing Kangana Ranaut’s mentor in Razneesh Ghai’s upcoming film Dhaakad.

The spy action thriller also features Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in crucial roles.

According to a report in The Times of India newspaper, the team is currently shooting for the film in Budapest, Hungary.

Chatterjee’s name was reportedly recommended for the role by Ranaut, who has seen his previous works. The actor, who earned a name beyond Bengali cinema with his memorable portrayal of Bob Biswas in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani (2012), has many scenes with National award-winning actress Ranaut.

“Kangana is a brilliant co-actor and extremely professional,” said Chatterjee. “When she is required to wear a well-fitted attire for a scene, she stops eating from the day before to look her best on screen, such is her dedication. As an actor, you can call her a perfectionist.”

According to the actor, Ranaut discusses the scenes with the directorial team as well as the other artistes involved so that everyone can perform well.

Chatterjee also had an enjoyable experience working with Rampal. “In fact, the entire team of Dhaakad is wonderful to work with,” he said.

The team took the day off yesterday and Chatterjee went around exploring the Hungarian capital with director Ghai and Oscar-winning cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata. The entire team also went to watch the Marvel film Black Widow (2021) in a theatre and had a blast watching a movie on the big screen after a long time.
