Akshay Kumar’s first web-series The End, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, was announced in March 2019 at a grand event in Mumbai. But the series is yet to go on the floors.
Asked about the project, producer Vikram Malhotra of Abunduntia Entertainment said, “Shows like The End which work on this innovative and large-scale creation take time to develop. It’s only in our country that we expect that we have announced the show and it will begin filming in a few months and will release in few months (sic).”
He added, “Globally, multi-season shows of such size, scale and innovative storyline take years to develop. We have utilized the pandemic in a very productive manner to finish our writing, prep and planning. So, all going well if the situation improves quickly, we should be getting to shoot soon.”
Abunduntia has worked with Akshay on a number of successful films such as Baby (2015), Airlift (2016) and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017).
Speaking about his relationship with the actor, Malhotra added, “Working with Akshay is the most pleasant, rewarding and enriching experience that one can ever imagine. We have had a successful track record with Baby, Toilet and now we have Ram Setu coming up. He is an inspiring actor and partner. His vision for stories and work ethic is commendable,” he said.
