Artistes Parambrata Chatterjee and Priyanka Sarkar and veteran actor Paran Bandopadhyay will star in poet-lyricist Srijato Bandopadhyay's directorial debut Manab Jamin.

The film, which is being produced by Rana Sarkar, will also feature director Srijit Mukherji in a cameo.

The Ananda Puraskar-winning writer, who made his debut as a screenwriter with Indraadip Dasgupta’s film Kedara (2019), had been willing to make a film for the past two decades. While speaking to Anandabazar Patrika, a Bengali daily, the first-time filmmaker said, “That dream is finally turning into reality. Of course, I am a little nervous.”

Chatterjee, who harbours deep respect for Bandopadhyay, is elated to be part of his directorial debut whose storyline has elements of romance and humour. However, the director doesn’t want to call the film a “romantic comedy”. Apparently, while he was writing the script, he had both Chatterjee and Paran in his mind.

Though Sarkar is yet to listen to the script, she is looking forward to putting her best foot forward. The director is planning to start shooting Manab Jamin soon as he wants to submit the film for the National awards before 31 December.
