Filming for the new season of Masaba Masaba has begun. The Netflix web-series featuring the real-life mother-daughter duo of Neena and Masaba Gupta returns to tell of new adventures the second time around.

Created by Ashvini Yardi of Viniyard Films, Masaba Masaba was premiered online on Netflix on 28 August last year. In the show, Masaba, a fashion designer, and her mother, veteran actress Neena Gupta, play fictionalized versions of themselves as they navigate work and personal life. Neil Bhoopalam also stars on the show directed by Sonam Nair.

Nair has co-written the second season with Nandini Gupta, Punya Arora and Anisha Raisurana.

Speaking about her acting debut, Masaba said, “Masaba Masaba (Season 1) was one of the most unexpected yet fun things to happen to me. I have fond memories of filming for the show and just having a good time with the amazing cast and crew.

“I’m all set to start filming for the new season with excitement and renewed energy," she continued. "I get to show a different side of myself in Season 2 and can’t wait to see what the audience will think about it. It’s going to be twice the laughter, twice the tears and twice the fun!”

A new video released by Netflix shows a humorous behind-the-scenes look at the start of filming, where the crew are trying to locate the star Masaba.
