Varun Sharma in Chutzpah

The trailer for SonyLIV’s upcoming web-series Chutzpah is filled with humour. But the series explores the dark side of the internet.

The trailer is presented in such a way that it is difficult to say what the story is. Maybe this was intentional. So we have a long-distance couple, played by Varun Sharma and Tanya Maniktala, who indulge in a video sex chat to feel closer to each other. A youngster comes across a cam girl (Elnaaz Norouzi) and gets excited.

The show also looks at the issue of trolling and bullying someone on social media and its repercussions. All in all, the trailer gives a glimpse, in a humorous way, of the secret activities people indulge in online.

Directed by Simarpreet Singh and created by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Chutzpah tries its hand at a topic not touched before in the Hindi web world. Although the story has been kept under wraps, the trailer makes it clear that one can expect something new and experimental from the show. The production design is also new-age.

Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh are once again seen in comical avatars. Elnaaz Norouzi and Tanya Maniktala appear perfectly cast.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Outsider, Chutzpah will be streamed on SonyLIV from 23 July. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to see the show.
