Nawazuddin Siddiqui will star in Kangana Ranaut's maiden production, Tiku Weds Sheru. The film, which will be directed by Sai Kabir, will mark the beginning of the actress's home production, Manikarnika Films.
The actress launched her production house, which is named after her 2020 film, announcing the upcoming project in May.
Ranaut had revealed that the film will be a 'quirky' romance in the 'digital space', eliminating doubt of a theatrical release.
The latest news was revealed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who said that the critically acclaimed actor will play the lead.

Incidentally, Tiku Weds Sheru is the latest of many romantic dramas starring Siddiqui, who was last seen in Ghoomketu (2020). The actor will play the lead in Shamas Siddiqui's Bole Chudiyan alongside Tamannaah Bhatia and Jogira Sara Ra Ra! alongside Neha Sharma.
Ranaut, meanwhile, is juggling multiple projects. The actress is set to direct a biopic on Indira Gandhi, set in the Emergency era. Titled Emergency, the film will see the actress play the former prime minister. In addition, the actress had announced another production, Aparajitha Ayodhya. On the acting front, she has Dhaakad (2021), Tejas (2021) and Thalaivi (2021) in the pipeline. These projects have been hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tiku Weds Sheru is scheduled to be released in 2022. The production house has not yet confirmed which digital platform the film will be streamed on.
