Actor Priyanshu Painyuli has bowed out of Vishal Furia's Chhori, citing date issues. The actor has been cast alongside Taapsee Pannu for Akarsh Khurana's upcoming sports biopic Rashmi Rocket.
Chhori is a remake of Lapachhapi (2017), directed by Vishal Furia. Shooting for the film began in November 2020 and it is scheduled to be released in 2021.
Painyuli has also been cast in Pippa, alongside Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Kulkarni. The actor has cited these projects as the reason he has been unable to take up Chhorii.
A press note stated, "Priyanshu was excited about trying a new genre; however, the dates of Rashmi Rocket and his wedding were clashing, and hence he had to let go of the project."
Rashmi Rocket has already gone on the floors, with its makers revealing the latest cast member, Supriya Pathak as Taapsee Pannu's mother in the film.
Painyuli was last seen in the second season of Mirzapur.
