Feeling absolutely fine after being vaccinated against COVID-19, says Shilpa Shirodkar

The actress took her first shot of the Sinopharm vaccine yesterday in Dubai, where she resides.

Actress Shilpa Shirodkar has become the first Hindi film artiste to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination drives have been launched around the globe, including Dubai where the actress resides.

Speaking exclusively to Cinestaan, Shirodkar said, “I took my first shot of the Sinopharm vaccine yesterday, and I feel absolutely fine. I wasn’t nervous at all. I am so happy that I took the vaccine. It’s important for all of us to act responsibly as citizens of the world.”

The vaccine that is being administered in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain was developed by China's Beijing Institute of Biological Products, a subsidiary of state-owned conglomerate Sinopharm.

The actress praised her government's efforts to eradicate the virus. “As I now live in Dubai, it’s fairly simple. The government has made it very easy for residents and citizens to get vaccinated. It’s all very well executed here and it is equal for all. My next dose is in 21 days and I am looking forward to it. I will soon have a document which says 'COVID Vaccine taken'.”

Expressing gratitude towards those who are combating the menace head-on, Shirodkar said, “I would like to thank all frontline workers for keeping us safe and alive.”
