Akshay Kumar begins shooting for Bachchan Pandey, shares new look

The film went on the floors yesterday in Rajasthan with Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi and other cast members present.

Actor Akshay Kumar has begun shooting for Bachchan Pandey, which went on the floors in Rajasthan on Wednesday. The makers recently shared photos of Kriti Sanon posing with a clapperboard alongside the director, Farhad Samji.

The actor took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal his look for the film. "New year, old associations...begun shooting for Bachchan Pandey, my tenth film with Sajid Nadiadwala and hopefully many more. Need your best wishes and do tell me your thoughts on the look (sic)," wrote Kumar.

Sitting on the hood of a car in a black kurta, jeans and with a red scarf wrapped around his forehead and several heavy metal chains around his neck, Akshay's on-screen persona looks intense.

In Bachchan Pandey, Kumar will play the role of a gangster who aspires to be an actor. Sanon features as a journalist, who wishes to be a director. Warsi will reportedly play the role of a struggling actor. Saharsh Kumar Shukla and Pankaj Tripathi are the latest additions to the multi-starer film. The team had flown to the Jaisalmer on 4 January but interestingly Akshay was nowhere to be seen in the images shared by the makers. This is Akshay's second film with Sanon after Housefull 4 (2019).

Bacchan Pandey is reportedly a remake of the Tamil gangster thriller Jigarthanda (2014). The film is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It is expected to be released in 2021.
