Sengupta’s penchant for venturing beyond Bengali cinema has garnered attention. Last year, he bagged major roles in Telugu and Hindi films. He played the protagonist’s former husband in Shakuntala Devi (2020) and also made a mark in Aswathama (2020), Sadak 2 (2020) and Durgamati (2020).
Antim deals with farmers’ issues, though it is not known whether or not the film will reference the ongoing farmers’ agitation.
Speaking to the Indian Express newspaper on his experience working with Khan, Sengupta stated that the celebrated actor is quite serious on the sets but has a golden heart.
Sengupta will also be seen in Aritra Mukherjee's upcoming Bengali film Baba Baby O (2021). In the romantic comedy, Sengupta will play the role of a single father.
