The new song from the Pankaj Tripathi-starrer Kaagaz, 'Jug Jug Jiyo', is an emotional yet inspirational track about the importance of never backing down. The song, which was composed and sung by Rahul Jain, captures the lifelong struggle of a Bharatlal (Pankaj Tripathi) to prove his existence after he is declared dead in government documents.
From his family leaving him to contesting an election to staging a protest against officials, he goes through many ups and downs in his battle against mighty government officials. The song is basically a montage of his struggle, which lasted for almost 30 years.
Jain's music has an inspirational quality to it. Although not exceptional, the song serves its purpose. The vocals also strike a chord, especially when Jain hits the high notes.
Aseem Ahmed Abbasee and Kunaal Vermaa deserve praise for their simple yet effective lyrics that not only explain the plight of Bharatlal but also inspire you to persevere in the face of adversity. The main hook is accompanied by clever wordplay.
Kaagaz has been written and directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Salman Khan Films.
