Mahesh Limaye returns to direction with new film Jaggu Aani Juliet

The film is being  produced by Punit Balan Studios and features music by celebrated composer duo Ajay-Atul.

Cinematographer Mahesh Limaye who made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Marathi movie Yellow (2014) has returned to direction after a seven-year break with the film Jaggu and Juliet. From the title, it appears to be a love story, which is a far cry from his first film.

The makers announced the project by sharing the film's title poster on social media. The poster shows two hands against the backdrop of what appears to be a Big Ben of London. Both hands are adorned with some flashy jewellery and although it's not very clear, it seems that these are women's hands.

Even though it's too early to say anything, if our guess is correct, this might be the first Marathi feature film about a homosexual love story. The celebrated composer duo Ajay-Atul have been roped in to write the music for the film.

Jaggu Aani Juliet is produced by Punit Balan Studios who has earlier produced the superhit Marathi crime thriller Mulshi Pattern (2018). Incidentally, Limaye was the cinematographer of that film. The makers have kept the details of the film's cast and crew under wraps.
