Filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar is all set to remake the acclaimed and successful Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram in Marathi. The remake will be titled Maheshcha Badla.
The director shared the news recently on Instagram, stating that three films of his — Zombivali, Maheshcha Badla and Unaad — would be released in the first half of 2021.
He shared the title posters of the films and wrote, “Looking forward to 2021 with three films getting ready for release in the first half of the year. All three films extremely special to me and then new work starting soon which I am waiting to share with you. This year looks exciting. Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year (sic).”
Sarpotdar said that Ankush Chaudhary, Ridhima Pandit and Rutuja Shinde will star in Maheshcha Badla. The film will mark the big-screen debut of Pandit, who is known for acting in Hindi television serials.
Directed by Dileesh Pothan, Maheshinte Prathikaaram starred Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali and Anusree. The film was about a photographer Mahesh who vows to get revenge after being beaten up by a stranger while volunteering to resolve a dispute.
