The actress took to Twitter on Monday to reveal that Tetsuo Nagata, the cinematographer of the Academy Award-winning La Vie En Rose (2007), would shoot the film.

Directed by Razneesh Ghai, Dhaakad was announced back in July 2019. While its teaser was released in August 2019, the film's shooting schedule fell behind owing to other projects. Ranaut is reportedly playing an international spy in the project.
The actress recently hosted a team brunch for the cast, including Rampal and shared photos of the event.
Dhaakad had earlier run into controversy with director Ahmed Khan claiming that the project had been "shelved". Ghai and Ranaut had come out and slammed Khan and threatened to issue a legal notice against him.
