Abhimanyu Singh to play the villain against Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey

Actor Abhimanyu Singh has been roped in to play the villain against Akshay Kumar in Bachchan Pandey (2022).

Directed by Farhad Samji, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The news was shared by veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter.

Interestingly, Abhimanyu Singh is also the antagonist in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming action film Sooryavanshi (2021). Directed by Rohit Shetty and co-starring Katrina Kaif, the film has been ready since early last year and was slated for release on 24 March 2020 but the COVID-19 pandemic put a spanner in the works.

Abhimanyu Singh had said last year that his character in Sooryavanshi is not an out-and-out villain. “My character is not a typical baddie, he has his own ideology. [He] does things for his people and is very real with an emotional undercurrent. It is a big deal to play the antagonist in a Rohit Shetty film. Everything on the set was so larger-than-life,” the actor told the Mumbai Mirror newspaper.
