Cinematographer Kabir Lal, who has shot more than 100 films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, is now turning director. Lal will remake the Spanish mystery thriller Julia's Eyes (2010) in four different languages — Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali.
The Marathi remake, Adrushya, will star Manjari Fadnis, Pushkar Jog and Saurabh Gokhale. The Tamil remake, Un PaarvaiIyil, will be lead by Gayathrie Shankar while the supporting cast will comprise Harish Uthaman, Himanshu Soni and PA Tulasi.
The Telugu remake, Agochara, stars Esha Chawla, Brahmanandam and Sunil Varma while the Bengali film, Antardrishti, stars Rituparna Sengupta, Indrajit Chakravarthy and Sean Banerjee. Shooting has commenced in Uttarakhand for Adrushya and Antardrishti. Shooting for the Telugu and Tamil versions will commence in the second week of February.
All four remakes are being produced by Ajay Kumar Singh, under the banner Lovely World Entertainment.
Julia's Eyes is a 2010 Spanish horror thriller film directed by Guillem Morales. The film's story revolves around a woman who is slowly losing her eyesight and trying to solve the mystery around her sister's death.
