On the occasion of India’s 72nd Republic Day, the makers of Mere Desh Ki Dharti revealed the first look of its lead actor Divyenndu Sharma.
In the image, Sharma can be seen sporting shades while standing in the field wearing a jacket, t-shirt, which are not generally considered farmers' garments.
In the film, Sharma plays a young engineer, Ajay, who goes to rural India with his friend Sameer (Anant Vidhaat) after facing setbacks in his career. The duo then goes on to revolutionalizes farming sector.
Speaking about his experience working in the film, Sharma said, "It’s been really fun working on Mere Desh Ki Dharti, right from the script to the dialogues. It was damn cold when we were shooting. The place was absolutely majestic. There was something very positive about the village where we shot the film.”
He also said that if his film could help farmers solve their problems, it would be a great start. "This film is very close to my heart and that’s why I am very protective of it. I really want it to reach as many people as possible, especially the farmers so maybe whatever we have done in the film could inspire them. Especially in the current scenario, with what’s happening with the farmers, it becomes even more important" he added.
Directed by Faraz Haider, Mere Desh Ki Dharti also stars Anupria Goenka, Inaamulhaq, Brijendra Kala, Rajesh Sharma, Atul Shrivastava and Farrukh Jafar. The film is being produced by Vaishali Sarwankar under the Carnival Motion Pictures banner.
