John Abraham has revealed that his upcoming film Satyameva Jayate 2 will be released on Eid, which falls on 14 May.  The film, directed by Milap Zaveri, will clash with Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai at the box office.

John announced the release date on Twitter, on the occasion of India's Republic Day on 26 January. The actor wrote, "TANN MANN DHANN, se Badhkar JANN GANN MANN! (sic)" as part of the tagline for his film.

The sequel to Abraham's 2018 film, Satyameva Jayate, it will also feature Divya Khosla Kumar. The film was initially scheduled for a 2 October 2020 release but had to be postponed in view of the pandemic and the lockdowns that followed. Its

Earlier this month, Salman Khan had confirmed an Eid release for Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. The actor had reiterated that his decision to wait till Eid was spurred by the need to help theatre owners, distributors and exhibitors. He wrote, "I understand the financial problems that the theatre owners/exhibitors are going through and I would like to help them by releasing Radhe in theatres. The commitment was of Eid and it will be Eid 2021, inshallah!"

Incidentally, John has previously seen his films clash with Akshay Kumar-starrers. His thriller Batla House (2019) clashed with the Kumar's Mission Mangal (2019), while Satyameva Jayate (2018) clashed with Gold (2018)

This will be a rare occasion for Khan who has largely seen his films hit the screens unopposed on the Eid weekend throughout the past decade.
