Fauji Calling trailer: Indian army’s sacrifices seen through eyes of innocent girl

The film stars Sharman Joshi, Bidita Bag, Ranjha Vikram Singh and Zarina Wahab.

Writer-director Aaryaan Saxena’s Fauji Calling highlights the sacrifices made by the Indian army.

Aaradhya is a little girl living in a picturesque town in North India with her mother (Bidita Bag). Her father (Sharman Joshi) is mostly away since he is a serving in the army. She gets excited when the wait for her father’s return finally ends.

The girl and her parents are happy in their own world. But one day, Aaradhya is shocked to learn that the man who returned is not her real father and starts suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Initially, the film appears to be an emotional saga about soldiers. But the twist catches you off guard. The only issue is that the trailer gets too loud, especially in the end. Somehow the editors of promos have created an unwritten rule that the footage should end on a melodramatic and loud note.

Joshi and Bag's performances appear adequate. But the little girl is the scene-stealer.

Fauji Calling will be released in theatres on 25 February.
