The teaser of Bratya Basu’s Dictionary highlights the upcoming film's central conflict. Starring Abir Chatterjee and Nusrat Jahan, the film seems to focus on the complexities of a marital relationship.

With a popular folk song playing in the background, the visuals first present Jahan, who plays Chatterjee’s wife Smita, in a playful mood with another man (Arna Mukhopadhyay) in a forest in Southern Bengal. In the next scene, Ashoke (Chatterjee) can be seen casting wistful glances at his wife and her companion who are lost in their own world.

Ashoke then wonders aloud in despair whether he had failed to win Smita's affection because he is much older than her. A scene in which Smita is seen sleeping peacefully while Ashoke remains wide awake beside her suggests a breach of communication and lack of connection between the couple.

It is apparent that Smita finds the comfort she is seeking in her companion and the fact their friendship makes her happy and perhaps indifferent to her husband leaves the latter worried and lonely.

The first visual and the background score also lend the entire teaser a rustic ambience while the ending visual highlighting certain words associated with relationships, clearing all doubts as to what the subject of the film is.
