The third instalment in the Fukrey franchise will be going on the floors in April and will be released next year, actress Richa Chadha told Cinestaan recently.
The makers had announced the third part of the comedy series some time ago.
Apart from the actress, the series stars Ali Fazal, Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Manjot Singh, Priya Anand and Vishakha Singh. Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the project has been produced under the Excel Entertainment banner.
Chadha believes that the makers have not taken the success of Fukrey (2013) and Fukrey Returns (2017) for granted. “Our responsibilities have increased for the Fukrey franchise now,” she said. “The film is also liked by children. After the cartoon series Fukrey Boys was released, kids have started liking it even more. We wish to work with a lot of responsibility.”
The actress has a busy year ahead of her. “I am doing a lot of series as well. I am so busy this year that it’s difficult for me to take holidays. But I am happy that I am busy,” she said.
The Fukrey team is still coming to terms with the loss of Olanokiotan Gbolabo Lucas, who passed away earlier this month. He played Chadha’s bodyguard in the movie. Remembering the actor, Chadha said, “This year hasn’t started on a good note. We are saddened by his death. It happened all of a sudden and it has troubled us. We will keep his memories alive.”
