A biopic on the life of Indian soldier and famed mountaineer colonel Narinder 'Bull' Kumar is in the pipeline. The film, tentatively titled Bull, will be directed by Ramon Chibb, who is also backing the project along with Anku Pande of Manomay Motion Pictures.
The late colonel was known for undertaking several expeditions across the Himalayas and the Karakoram mountain ranges as well as being the deputy director of the first Indian expedition to Mount Everest. A recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Chakra, Kirti Chakra, and the Padma Shri, the colonel's reconnaissance expeditions to the glaciers in Siachen were key to the Indian army's successful establishment of forward posts in the region.
Chibb, an ex-army officer from the same regiment as colonel Kumar, has previously directed several shows centered around the armed forces for National Geographic. Chibb has also acted as a creative consultant for the Aamir Khan film Laal Singh Chaddha and is scripting the newly announced Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone film Fighter. The film will be written by Balwinder Singh Janjua, and will have Chibb, Anku Pande and Siddharth Anand as its key creative producers,
Speaking of the project, Chibb said, "We are elated as a team to be the ones to bring this extremely amazing story of heroism and true leadership to the screens soon. We are grateful to the late Colonel Narinder 'Bull' Kumar’s family to trust us and give us the responsibility to retell his deeply inspiring story for celluloid and give us the opportunity to do our part in forever commemorating his life into a film reel We currently have interest from several studios and look forward to kick start this project and let the world know the heroic story of an unfathomably brave, adventurous and true patriot (sic)."
