The makers of Kaanbhatt, a unique story about the Vedas and science, have released the first trailer of the film.
Prabhat (Rugved Mule) is sent to an ashram to study the Vedas but he seems to lack interest in the subject. While wandering around he meets a mysterious young sage who introduces himself as Kaanbhatt (Bhavya Shinde). We then see their relationship grow under the guru-shishya tradition with Kaanbhatt introducing the acolyte to the scientific aspects of the sacred scriptures.
The story appears interesting, but Shinde, who makes his acting debut with the film, seems a tad uncomfortable in front of the camera. Also, the dialogues are not quite up to the mark while the pronunciation of certain words seems off. Although the trailer doesn't specify the period in which the film is set, from the visuals it can be surmised that the narrative takes place in the late 19th or early 20th century.
Kaanbhatt has been directed by producer-turned-director Aparna Hosing. The film is set to be released in cinemas on 19 February 2021.
