Divya Dutta looks as tough as nails in Dhaakad poster

The makers of Dhaakad, who revealed the on-screen look of Arjun Rampal yesterday, have shared a poster of another cast member, Divya Dutta, in character. The actress will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in the film, which stars Kangana Ranaut. 

Explaining her reason for signing this film, Dutta said in a statement, “When I was narrated the part, it got me very excited. This is something that I have not done before and the character is completely different from how I am as a person. I cannot reveal much about my character but all I can say that to get into the skin of my character, Rohini, took a lot of focus and preparation mentally as well.”

Dutta was drawn towards Dhaakad as it is a rare woman-oriented action film. “I am looking forward to working with Kangana and Arjun and I am truly exhilarated to be a part of a woman-oriented action film. I am sure that Dhaakad will set a trend,” she added. 

Dutta’s spokesperson said in a statement that the actress is essaying a character who is "ruthless and badass in every way". "While Divya has essayed a melange of characters — demure, sweet, shrewd, smart and more — in a career of over two decades, this is the first time that she has taken on a role of this nature,” the statement read.

The film sees Ranaut play Agent Agni, a spy whose appearance seems inspired by Lara Croft from the popular Tomb Raider video games, while Rampal will play the antagonist, Rudraveer. Dhaakad, which marks Razneesh Ghai's directorial debut, will be releasing on 1 October.
