Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, Mithila Palkar-starrer Tribhanga to be released on 15 January: See teaser

Actress Renuka Shahane’s Hindi directorial debut Tribhanga finally has a release date. It will be released on 15 January on Netflix.

The news was shared by Kajol, who plays a pivotal role in the film, through the first teaser for the film. Tribhanga also stars Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar.

Tweeting the teaser, Kajol wrote, “Tribhanga, matlab, tedhi, medhi, crazy, but sexy. Tribhanga, premieres 15 January, only on Netflix.” The teaser indicates that the film is an intense emotional drama involving the characters played by the three actresses.

Going by her attire, Kajol plays a classical dancer in the film. Although nothing has been revealed about the story, it seems there will be some tension among the three characters. There is a scene where Azmi is being pushed by Kajol. Later, the former is seen in a serious condition in hospital. The intriguing background score adds to the thrill.

Tribhanga is produced by Ajay Devgn and Siddharth P Malhotra, director of the Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki (2018), and also stars Kunaal Roy Kapur and well-known Marathi film actor Vaibhav Tatwawaadi.

Speaking about working with Kajol, Shahane had told Cinestaan.com last year, “She was the biggest star on our set. If a star accepts or behaves in a way on the sets which is conducive to very good shooting, then it percolates down to the bottom. Everybody was happy to come on our sets.”

Shahane’s first film as director was the Marathi movie Rita (2009).
