Tumi Ashbe Bole trailer: Doesn't suggest a promising romantic tale

Nothing in the trailer filled with snippet visuals assures the viewer that this is going to be different from any other Bonny Sengupta-Koushani Mukherjee film.

The trailer for Sujit Mondal’s upcoming film Tumi Ashbe Bole (2021) begins with Bonny Sengupta's character speaking of the facets of ‘one-sided’ love with a cheeky punchline.

As the trailer progresses, we see several visuals of Sengupta romancing real-life girlfriend Koushani Mukherjee. However, his opening line raises a doubt whether Ankhi (Mukherjee) reciprocates his emotions or he is simply daydreaming about their union.

Eventually both get acquainted and decide to marry even as Ankhi’s father objects to their relationship and threatens Sengupta's character.

While the first part of the trailer mostly focuses on the leading man and his love interest, it is difficult to learn anything more about the storyline from the latter part. Certain snippet visuals suggest Sengupta doubting himself in honouring his commitment to Ankhi, while the latter refuses to give up on him. At the same time it is evident that the two are separated by force and a moment comes when Ankhi begins to doubt Sengupta’s intentions as well.

Towards the end of the trailer, there are glimpses of Ankhi’s marriage; however, whether the lovers get to spend the rest of their life together needs to be figured out in the film.

The trailer does not offer engaging moments; instead, one needs to scrutinize it closely to get some idea about the film, and what one learns is not too appealing or original, either in terms of content or cinematic composition. Apart from the clichéd romantic moments, the trailer is filled with confusing snippet visuals which do not assure the viewer that this film is going to be too different from others starring Sengupta and Mukherjee.

Tumi Ashbe Bole is slated for release on 22 January. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film
