Four bachelor friends — Nikhil (Sumeet Vyas), Subbu (Naveen Kasturia), Kavi (Amol Parashar) and Sanki (Ashish Verma) — are desperately looking for a roof over their heads in Mumbai in the trailer for MX Player's upcoming horror-comedy mini-web-series Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai. But their bachelorhood comes in the way of finding a decent flat.
Finally, beating all odds, they get a spacious 4BHK flat for a measly rent. But, of course, there is a twist in the tale. The flat is haunted by a ghost who soon possesses the beautiful Mausam (Swara Bhasker) who has joined the four for their housewarming party, and thus begins the comedy of horrors.
The very apt title of the mini-series is inspired by the famous song from the hit film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1972), composed by RD Burman and sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle.
The trailer promises that this five-episode mini-series will have all the usual tropes associated with horror-comedies. It seems the makers have also paid homage to classic horror films like The Exorcist (1973) and The Shining (1980).
All the artistes here are known for their impeccable comic timing. While Parashar and Vyas have worked together in the web-series Tripling, it should be fun to see the four of them together for the first time.
Aapkey Kamrey Mein Koi Rehta Hai is directed by Gaurav Sinha and will be premiered on MX Player on 22 January. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the show.
