Starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, the film opened in theatres on Wednesday. The film, produced and distributed by 7 Screen Studios, tells the story of a professor who tries to reform a juvenile centre and clashes with a gangster (Vijay Sethupathi) who does not wish to see that happen.
Abhishek Rege, CEO, Endemol Shine India, said in a statement, "We are incredibly proud to have acquired the rights to such a hot property; We look forward to recreating the magic of this film to captivate the Hindi audience,"
The Press Trust of India news agency quoted Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios saying, "We are proud to present the film to the audiences in the Hindi language."
Master has reportedly collected Rs25.4 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu, followed by Rs10.5 crore overseas. It is the first major Tamil theatrical release since the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown last year.
