The veteran actor is the latest addition to the cast which comprises Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Mohan Babu among others.
Last week, shooting for the project resumed after a long gap on a specially erected set in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The entire cast and crew got tested for COVID-19 before joining the sets.
The project went on the floors in Thailand in December 2019 where filming occurred for over 90 days. After wrapping up the shoot, in which artistes Karthi, Jayam Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi took part, the team suspended work due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The film, whose title poster was released last January, will feature music by AR Rahman. Lensman Ravi Varman is shooting the film, which will be edited by Sreekar Prasad.
The film is being jointly produced by Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions. Siva Ananth is the film’s executive producer.
