Protesting farmers turn up at shooting location of Janhvi Kapoor's Good Luck Jerry

The group allowed filming to resume only after assurances were provided that the actress would support their cause.

Janhvi Kapoor had to put out a message supporting farmers after a group of protesters turned up at the site of the actress' shoot in Punjab on Monday. Kapoor has been filming for Aanand L Rai's Good Luck Jerry in the state.

The group allowed shooting to resume only after assurances were provided that the actress would support their cause. Kapoor later put out an Instagram story, now unavailable, in which she expressed hope for a 'speedy resolution' to the ongoing protests across the country.

The actress reportedly wrote, "Farmers are at the heart of our country. I recognize and value the role that they play in feeding our nation. I hope a resolution is reached soon that benefits the farmers."

ANI quoted a local police inspector, Balwinder Singh saying, "They had told the crew and the director that Bollywood [Hindi cinema] actors have neither said anything in support of the farmers' protest nor have they made any comment. When the director assured them that Janhvi Kapoor would make a comment on the protest, they went back. The shoot is going on."

Directed by Siddharth Sengupta, Good Luck Jerry features Deepak Dobriyal, Meeta Vashishth, and Neeraj Sood. The film is being produced by Colour Yellow Productions and Lyca Productions in association with Sundial Entertainment.
