Malayalam filmmaker Sijo Rocky is all set to make his Marathi cinema debut in the upcoming romantic drama Preetam.

Starring Pranav Raorane and Nakshtra Medhekar, the film will be released in cinemas on 19 February. Along with the release date, the makers also shared the first poster of the film, which sees the lead pair posing romantically on a bicycle.

The film's screenplay and dialogues have been written by Ganesh Pandit.

Preetam, which features Upendra Limaye, Ajit Devle, Vishwajit Palav and Sameer Khandekar, was shot in Maharashtra's Konkan region before the lockdown was announced last year.

Medhekar, who has been part of a few Marathi soap operas, made her cinematic debut in the historical drama Fatteshikast (2019) where she played the role of Bahu Begam. Raorane has also played both supporting and leading roles in Marathi films. His last film was Aatpadi Nights (2020) where he played a young man who is body-shamed for his lanky figure.

The movie is being produced by Sijo under the production house Wizard Productions.
