Rajasthan International Film Festival to be held in hybrid format from 20-24 March

The event will be organised in the cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur. Organizers are accepting submissions till 31 January.

The seventh edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) is scheduled to be held in a hybrid format from 20-24 March 2021 in the cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. The theme of the festival is ‘Music in Cinema’. 

The organizers of the festival have released the first list of selections, which includes Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s Rickshawala, Pankaz Singh Tanwar’s Shubh Raatri, Abhijeet Saha’s Cilantro's Picnic and Sajin Baabu’s Biriyaani. 

The short film selection includes The Knocker by Anant Mahadevan, Maans by Prakash Ghai, Laal by Sumeet Patil and Enigma — The Fallen Angel by Abhay Thakur, among others.

The international films include the documentary Kiss the Ground by Josh Tickell and Rebecca Tickell, the feature film Manny by Dace Puce; the shorts Aloof by Itai Jamshi and Zarina by Clinton Immanuel Banze; as well as the animation films Chomp and On This Side directed by Navjot Kaur.

The founders and festival directors of the RIFF, Somendra and Anshu Harsh, said, “The seventh edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival will be held from 20 to 24 March 2021 in a hybrid format i.e. virtually and physically in Jaipur and Jodhpur. The opening ceremony of the Rajasthan International Film Festival, like the previous year, will be held at the Open Theatre of the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur on 20 March 2021. Thereafter, film screenings, open forums, talk shows and much more will be held for the next four days from 21 to 24 March 2021 in Jodhpur along with the closing ceremony, the grand RIFF Award Night 2021, which will be held in Jodhpur on 24 March 2021".

The festival organizers are accepting submissions in the short, documentary, animation, feature, regional, Rajasthani, and music album categories till 31 January.
